Pop/Hip-Hop

Two of England’s biggest musical stars team up to create this monster of a track. It’s impossible to go wrong combining Tinie Tempah’s craziness with Labrinth’s top-notch production featuring some dubstep influences. As Tempah says, “This one’s feeling like a straight 10 on the Richter scale.”

Timeflies continues their dominance of the electro-hop scene, this time mixing up a bit of dubstep into their sound. It works fantastically, and as always Cal’s vocals and Rob’s production fit together perfectly for some rage action.

For any of you who went to the Zoo this year, you’ll know this song since it has been declared The Anthem of Electric Zoo 2011. An impossibly huge song from one third of SHM and the fast-rising DJ/producer Alesso.

This is one of the most anonymous songs I’ve ever come across. It is ridiculously amazing electro, which I found through YouTube almost four years ago. Still, despite hours and hours of searching these past years, I’ve never been able to find out anything about the artist, the song, or even the actual release date. For anyone who’s ever heard me DJ, you might recognize this song as it’s usually the one I play when everyone’s ready to go fucking mental. Old song, great remix. Brings into the modern musical age with some banging electro to top up the pop/hip-hop vocals.

Vocal House

This is much less intense/crazy than I would expect from an Afrojack and Steve Aoki collaboration. But that actually happens to be a good thing, as the focus on a more melodic and ambient sound puts Miss Palmer’s vocals in the foreground. And when the breakdown does happen, it makes up for the subdued first half of the song.

This is some big fucking house from little-known producer Sak Noel. The vocals are what makes the song so amazing, it feels exotic and sexy while the lowkey beat forces you to dance. “Johnny, la gente esta muy loca, What the fuck?”

Some HEAVY dubstep from a producer I’ve never heard a single mention of anywhere. Just found this song on Youtube, and it’s really filthy dubstep. Absolutely beautiful.

Very melodic, but also with some heavy bass – thats a tricky combination to pull off, but they got it right in this first-time collaboration between these two massively respected dubstep artists.

It’s time for the weekend’s Rageaholics fix. We’ve got a big one today as the summer winds down and DJs and producers are releasing their epic tracks to close out the season. New releases by Example, David Guetta, and Calvin Harris have given us the remedies to our boredom, and just next week Dada Life will be putting out their newest single “Happy Violence”.

David Guetta & Avicii put up one hell of a a collaboration titled “Sunshine”, and here Pixel Cheese mashes it up with Jonathan Mendelsohn’s godly vocals on Laidback Luke’s track “Till Tonight”. This is definitely rage-worthy.

I hate to admit it, but it looks like David Guetta is finally making real music again. This collaboration with Sia emphasises her beautiful vocals, and Guetta finally diverges a little bit from his repetitive sounds to make a song that is at times poetic with a catchy melody before building up into a huge dancefloor beat.

Calvin Harris has been teasing us with his previews of “Feel So Close” all summer, with the Nero remix being leaked quite early giving us a hint of what’s to come. This Benassi remix sticks to his strengths of strong basslines and big-room melodies. Check back soon for the Calvin Harris original and remixes from Nero and Dillon Francis.

This is a really old (by which I mean: 2007) electro track from French producer Pakito, but it’s still unmatched in mixing a banging kick and an electro melody that drifts upwards into a rapturous climax.

Just like Calvin Harris, Example has been throwing around teasers, videos, and remixes of this track like candy, so it’s awesome to finally have the original! The extended mix puts in a little more build-up and harmonic elements that better match the theme of his lyrics.
