Weekend Update – Electro/House

 

And the final weekend update: here’s all the hot electro and vocal house that’s been hitting the world recently. An especially cool new track is Tiesto’s remix of the Mission Impossible theme in anticipation of the MI4 movie. Wish it would be included in the actual movie, though it’s probably too late at this point. First off though, are the vocal house tracks:

 

Vocal House

Kaskade has always been known for collaborating with the best female vocalists, but he’s not exactly known for bringing in much bass or high-energy electro to his works. So this Deniz Koyu remix turns this into the perfect party/club song. Also, Rebecca & Fiona are gonna be huge – it’s just a matter of time.

More in the way of pop/electro with female vocalists. The original was a bit too girly-sweet for most people, but this DJ Kue remix adds the bass and electro riffs needed to keep the guys from standing awkwardly at the edge of the dancefloor.

Timeflies continues their dominance of the electro-hop scene, this time mixing up a bit of dubstep into their sound. It works fantastically, and as always Cal’s vocals and Rob’s production fit together perfectly for some rage action.

This is one of the most anonymous songs I’ve ever come across. It is ridiculously amazing electro, which I found through YouTube almost four years ago. Still, despite hours and hours of searching these past years, I’ve never been able to find out anything about the artist, the song, or even the actual release date. For anyone who’s ever heard me DJ, you might recognize this song as it’s usually the one I play when everyone’s ready to go fucking mental. Vocal House

We’ve often covered the phenomenal mash-up artist 3LAU and the equally talented group Sex Ray Vision, and their remix of “Work Hard, Play Hard” won the Tiesto remix competition by a long shot. It’s a beautiful progressive vocal house track, and its absolutely made to get you hyped up.

Since this is just the pre-game list, these are not the usual heavy sort of dubstep songs. No crazy womps or unintelligible samples. Just some fluid basslines and hypnotic vocals. I highly recommend both of these songs, especially if you don’t like what dubstep usually sounds like.
