Creepers – Kid Cudi

Coming off the G.O.O.D. Music Cruel Summer (which was cruelly delayed past the summer), “Creepers” is another reason to get seriously excited about Indicud‘s release. It feels light and carefree, classic Cudi verses supplemented by some sweet uptempo percussion.

Just What I Am – Kid Cudi feat. King Chip

Cudderisback. For real this time. No more false starts, no more MotM II or WZRD. It’s been a long and painful journey for Kid Cudi and his fans alike, but I believe this first track from upcoming album Indicud signals the start of Kid Cudi v2.0. A masterful and creative opening verse from King Chip is a delightful kickstart to this track. The chorus, while certainly as un-creative as possible (“I need to smoke // I wanna get high y’all”), is chilled out and complements the verses well. The real highlight is Cudi’s verse, which is lyrically clever and, most importantly, gives us a real insight into his new mindset. It sounds like he’s got a postive outlook again – no more self-pity, no more defeatist attitude.

Indicud should be released later this year. Judging by this release, it’s gonna be a great fucking album.

Just got back into this song, it sounds like a blend of Nicolas Jaar’s sultry sound and big boi’s flow. I think you guys will like it

Childish Gambino – Royalty Mixtape

If you’re as big a Gambino fan as I am, you’ll be happy to hear some brand spanking new stuff. In addition to just releasing his new mixtape Royalty, here’s an extra track that didn’t make the cut: “Body” featuring Prodigy fresh out the studio. I love the style change-up from his regular stuff, and his lyricism remains as poignant and witty as ever.

Ridin – A$AP Rocky feat. Lana Del Rey

You might’ve heard this one already, considering it kind-of overtook the internet when it came out a few days ago. The second single of A$AP Rocky’s upcoming debut album LongLiveA$AP, “Ridin” features Lana Del Rey’s bubblegum-sweet vocals and lip-puckering. By herself, the pop diva might not create too much buzz for a track, but A$AP comes in and owns his verses with swagger and style. The combo is staggeringly perfect, and it leaves me impatient to hear the rest of LongLiveA$AP.
