As a fan of Ellie Goulding, I was very happy to hear about her new release featuring Tinie Tempah. It features her signature vocals over a fantastic dubstep tune. It’s a cover of the song by Pat Grossi (a.k.a. Active Child), who is also well-known for “High Priestess”. Grossi’s high-pitched delivery and musically luscious sound lends itself perfectly to Goulding’s angelic voice. When Tinie Tempah jumps in to ground the track in a solid rap verse, it completes the diverse genres and interesting concept of this cover. A must-listen song.

Neapolitan Dreams (Sound Remedy Remix)

My favorite musical genre is probably electro and/or dubstep remixes of indie songs, especially when they don’t go overboard on the electronic bit. Dubstep artist Sound Remedy has always fulfilled that role perfectly (for example, check out his remix of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata), so this remix of Neapolitan Dreams originally by Lisa Mitchell is destined to be in my summer cruising playlist for a long time.
